Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated in cities across the United States to commemorate the emancipation. The Milwaukee Juneteenth Day Celebration was a community-wide event organized as a street festival with various family-friendly activities taking place over the course of the day. The annual summer block party encouraged everyone to attend and join in the festivities, which included live music, kids' games, exhibits, soul food, and more. Hope you got to stop by the Acelero Learning booth and get information about our free Head Start programs that are enrolling for the fall!!

Today's celebration / parade in Burlington was for the Head Start Anniversary. We received free books from Scholastic for this celebration and Kohl's donated Emily Elizabeth dolls from the Clifford series. Community members came and read to our children, Mayor Jeannie Hefty and Firefighter Bryan Tello. Parents decorated signs, Love, Inc donated parade noise makers, and we shared with the community a parade down Burlington's main street to the Square and we took a group photo. This was a great day with the parents, and our partners in the community!!
